Remix A Symphony With Nonclassical And Czech Centre London

Musicians have until October 7 to submit remixes inspired by the work of Bohuslav Martinů.
The Czech Centre London and Nonclassical are opening a call for remixes inspired by the work of 20th century Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů, whose vast array of works include six symphonies, sixteen operas, jazz ballets, and countless chamber pieces including one dedicated to his fellow Princeton colleague Albert Einstein. Remix submissions can be purely electronic or a mixed-genre piece based on Martinů’s famed Symphony No. 4., and should be made via SoundCloud before October 7. The winner will be chosen by an expert jury and awarded a cash prize.
The remix contest comes as part of Inspired by Martinu,
which will explore Martinů’s body of work through London’s contemporary
classical and electronic music scene as represented by artists around
Gabriel Prokofiev’s esteemed Nonclassical label. On 21 October 2015,
Nonclassical artists will be joined live at the Forge in London by piano
virtuoso Lada Valešová, violin wunderkind Tereza Anna Přívratská and
vibrant soprano Lucie Špičková in an attempt to reimagine Martinů’s most
