Already in its third year, Made in Prague, the biannual New Czech Cinema UK Tour, is a showcase of the best of contemporary Czech films, cherry-picked from festivals all over the world. This year's selection consists of four films featuring work by established and new film directors, ranging from the WWII drama, literary adaptation, documentary to contemporary road movie.

The season presents Marek Najbrt's winner of six Czech national film awards Protektor, inspired by real characters and examining lives of a radio journalist and his Jewish film star wife during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia, stunningly recreating the visual of the period.

Director Petr 'Buttoners' Zelenka cleverly links the real world with fiction as a theatre company stages Dostoyevsky's The Brothers Karamazov in a Polish steelworks  at his award-winning  adaptation The Karamazovs.

The documentary genre is represented by Katka, in which Czech veteran filmmaker Helena Trestikova, (winner of the 2008 Prix Arte for the Best Documentary by a European Film Academy with Rene), traces 14 years in the life of a young junkie from hopeful beginning via despair to a crossroads on reaching motherhood.

The quartet of Czech movies is complemented by the contemporary road movie Twosome, an exciting debut with universal appeal about a young couple's relationship fatigue and their attempt to turn the tide with a trip to Scandinavia.

Launching at the Glasgow Film Festival, the Made in Prague season will be seen in Aberystwyth, Bath, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hereford, Liverpool, London, Newcastle, Oxford and Swansea, becoming part of the WOW, New Europe and Bordelines Film Festivals.

Organised by the Czech Centre London in collaboration with Czech Film Centre and Picturehouse Cinemas.
