Between Gesture and Theatricality

23 SEPTEMBER 2014 - In advance of Delfina Foundation’s 2015 programme, Performance as Process the Czech Centre is proud to partner with Delfina Foundation to showcase Between Gesture and Theatricality, an evening of presentations investigating contemporary performance practice in The Czech Republic. Focusing on different aspects of performativity curator Mariana Serranová will provide an engaging insight into the work of artists including Daniela Baráčková, Aleš Čermák, Milena Dopitová, Eva Koťátková, Eva Jiřička, Jiří Kovanda, Sláva Sobotovičová, Mark Ther, Adam Vačkář, Tomáš Uhnák and Martin Zet.

Mariana Serranova
is an independent curator and editor. Throughout her career she has collaborated with a number of galleries and initiatives working in the field of contemporary art, Centre for Contemporary Arts Prague and Futura Gallery. She acted as co-curator of the Czech Section of the Prague Biennale 5 (2011). Since 2012 she's been running an international visiting programme 
CURATORS & CRITICS´ PROGRAM, she is currently engaged in a Curatorial Placement at Liverpool Biennial.

Martin Zet is excited by the opportunity to be present during the presentation and to have chance to try to initiate a short exercise in a direction most likely appointed by the participants. The visitors are asked to bring along the wind instruments and earplugs. Breathe!

His performance in Delfina will be followed by a solo exhibition in Divus London.
