Czech Conversation Course - Summer 2018

Improve your Czech this summer with our conversation courses! Running in August these couses aim to improve students' confidence when speaking in Czech and develop their ability to express themselves in diverse situations.

 

At the moment we are experiencing problems with the online payment for our language courses through Ticketbase. We contacted them and we are hoping to resolve the issue soon.

TOPICS
‘My Family and Other Animals’ (talking about family and friends, expressing likes and dislikes, describing people, talking about hobbies) 
Let’s Have Fun (arranging a meet up, going to cinema/ theatre/ pub/ restaurant, buying tickets, menu and ordering food in restaurants) 
Holiday Ahoy! (booking a hotel, transportation, buying tickets, small talk) 
Oh No! (unexpected situations; at the doctors, formal and informal communication, lost in a city –asking for directions) 

OUTLINE
The focus of this course is to improve students’ ability to express themselves in everyday situations and become more confident with normal spoken interaction. The emphasis is on development of students’ conversational skills. Class activities include dialogues, role-plays and games.




FOR UPPER INTERMEDIATE 2, 3 & ADVANCED 1, 2

TOPICS
Needs and Expectations
 (planning holidays, travelling by transport, time tables, buying tickets, asking for directions, how to complain, claims, at the hotel reception, in the shop) 
Entertainment (arranging a meet up, visiting a castle, going to cinema / theatre / pub / restaurant, menu and choosing food in restaurants, places to visit in the Czech Republic, such as Český Krumlov, Litomyšl, Telč etc.) 
Let’s Be Friends (social networking, art of communication, etiquette, culture differences, small talk, how to gossip, inviting friends to London) 
Dreams, Daydreams, Nightmares (talking about wishes, hobbies and interests, how to share experience and give advice, my future goals and career, bucket list - things you have always wanted to do but never got around doing, never say never) 

OUTLINE
In this course is the aim to improve students’ ability to express their opinions and responding to diverse situations. The emphasis is on development of students’ conversational skills. Class activities include various exercises such as dialogues, role-plays, games and discussion.
