Jaromír 99 & Band at K: Kafka in Komiks

24 NOVEMBER 2014 - Czech singer, songwriter and visual artist Jaromír 99 together with guitarist a.m.almela and the trumpet player Lukáš Morávek will launch K:Kafka in Komiks exhibition at Goethe Institut London. The trio will perform acoustic versions of Jaromír's original compositions created for his other music projects (Priessnitz, Umakart), as well as songs written for other musicians. Free entry.

The launch takes place on 25 November at Goethe-Institut London and starts at 6.30 pm.

Apart from the live acoustic music by by Jaromír 99 + Band, we are absolutely delighted to have comic expert Paul Gravett in conversation with Jaromír 99 at the Goethe Institut.
Publisher SelfMadeHero will also be present with a graphic novel book stall.

About the exhibition

K: Kafka in Komiks explores Kafka’s world using extracts from three graphic novels illustrated by leading graphic novelists in collaboration with American author David Zane Mairowitz: Introducing Kafka by American comic cult cartoonist Robert Crumb, The Castle, illustrated by French illustrator Chantal Monellier and The Trial illustrated by Czech Jaromír 99. Curated by David Zane Mairowitz and Malgorzata Zerwe and presented in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut London and the Austrian Cultural Forum.

Opening Times: Mon – Thu 1 pm – 7 pm, Sat until 5 pm
