Mariana Serranová at Liverpool Biennial

AUGUST - SEPTEMBER 2014. Prague based independent curator, art critic and editor Mariana Serrano was selected to join the creative team of this year‘s Liverpool Biennial. She will be working with the Biennial’s leading curators Mau Abu ElDahab and Anthony Huberman on preparation of weekend performances and site specific projects. The internship is supported by London Biennial, the Czech Centre and the Arts Institute in Prague.

About Mariana Serranová
Mariana Serranová has collaborated with several galleries and initiatives working in the field of contemporary art, including Jelení Gallery, Centre for Contemporary Arts Prague, Futura Gallery, 4 +4 Days in Motion Festival and tranzit.cz. She writes for several Czech newspapers and art magazines (A2, Umelec International, Photographer, FlashArt, Revue Labyrint, etc.) and has published articles in several catalogues.
She was the curator of the Czech Section of the Prague Biennale 5 (2011), along with Vjera Borozan. Recently she has been working for Artyčok.tv an international research platform and online video portal that aims to encourage an intercultural dialogue between artists, curators and the public and Czech Centre Prague. She is running a program CCP|CURATORS & CRITICS´ PROGRAM (since 2012, with Zuzana Blochová and Edith Jeřábková.

Liverpool Biennial

Liverpool Biennial is the UK’s largest festival of contemporary visual art and it established in 1998. Its programme is closely connected with Liverpool and rediscovers the city through art and intervention projects. Last year over 600 thousand people visited the Liverpool Biennial.
