Artists' Roundtable: Perspectives on Collage with Pavel Vančát

21 MARCH, 7 PM - 9 PM; THE PHOTOGRAPHER'S GALLERY, 16-18 RAMILLIES STREET, LONDON W1F 7LW. Prague based curator Pavel Vančát (author of Jan Svoboda, Torst 2011) and Clunie Reid, an exhibiting artist at the Photographer's Gallery's Perspectives on Collage will discuss different approaches to contemporary photo-collage with Clare Grafik, the Head of Exhibitions at The Photographers’ Gallery.

Pavel Vančát (*1976) is Prague-based curator focused on the history of photography and contemporary art. From 2008-2010, he worked as a curator at Galerie Klatovy/Klenová. He is the author of several books, e. g. Miroslav Tichy (Torst, 2006), Mutating Medium: Photography in Czech Art 1990-2010 (Galerie Rudolfinum, 2011), Jan Svoboda (Torst, 2011). Since 2008 he is the head curator of StartPoint: Prize for Emerging Artists.


Clunie Reid was born in 1971 and lives and works in London. She studied painting at the Royal Collage of Arts. Solo shows include Black Light, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2012), Cos What’s Inside Him Never Dies (2011), MOT International, London, and Dumb Down, Get Dressed, Move Out (2010), Studio Voltaire, London. Group exhibitions include Accidentally on Purpose (2012), QUAD Gallery, Derby, Clunie Reid and James Richards (2010), Art Now, Tate Britain, London, UK and Karaoke - Photographic Quotes (2009), Fotomuseum Winterthur, Zurich, Switzerland.
