All the Rivers That Flow Through Me: New Works by Míla Fürstová

Míla Fürstová’s intricately spiritual works explore intimate portrayals of the human soul, expressed through various artistic media. Her practice is complex and varied, including the use of mirrors and paper cut outs—often combining several processes in one piece of art. Míla’s recent journey into motherhood has influenced the new work exhibited at Eames Fine Art. This experience has opened up her art to a new kind of subject matter and spirituality. Her etchings express the state of the soul through a distinctly feminine artistic voice—at once strong and fragile, dark and light, poetic and narrative, emblematic of both the past and the future.

‘This is the Age of Woman: An Age of strength and confidence—gentle, but with the weight of universal and personal mythologies at its heart.’  Míla Fürstová

Míla Fürstová is an award-winning international artist. She has had solo shows in France, the United States, Great Britain, and the Czech Republic over the last decade. Her work is held in public and private collections, including the collection of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Míla’s most recognisable work is the art for the cover and the singles of Coldplay’s sixth album Ghost Stories (2014). She also created the covers for the New York Times bestselling book series Mortal Instruments. An important feature-length film has recently been made about Míla and will be previewed during this exhibition in London. Míla was born in Czechoslovakia. She earned her BA degree in Fine Art Printmaking in Fine Art Printmaking at the University of Gloucestershire. She also holds an MA degree in Art, English Literature, and Psychology from the Charles University in Prague as well as an MA degree from the Royal College of Art.
