Archetypical Encounter of the Third Kind

Etta Ermini Dance Theatre presents a 20 minutes dance theatre piece for three performers including Czech ballet dancer Tereza Havlickova.

It takes an irreverent look at relationships taking inspiration from the archetypes of psychology. The actors are thus transformed into a princess, a magician and a knight. The piece is set in a restaurant where a couple and a single male fight bitterly over a double-booked restaurant table while showing the worst of themselves.

Strong physical dance sequences as well as quirky movement material are set to the experimental sounds of Diaporama and Aphex Twin as well as Jacques Brel, Jorane and Goran Bregovic. The short dialogue is witty and acerbic. Bizarre props such as a piano stool and Lycra fabric heighten the tense atmosphere. This tongue-in-cheek look at grotesque everyday relationships and conflicts is sure to appeal to a broad audience.
