Cantus reached its first significant success in 2002, when it gained silver medal at the international choir competition Mundi Cantat in Olomouc. Its repertoir contains Renaissance music as well as folk songs, 20th century pieces and spirituals. Cantus also premiered number of compositions (e.g. Milan Toušek, Vít Zouhar, Sylvie Bodorová) and cooperates with many ensembles, such as Symphonic Orchestra in Litomyšl. Since 2006 it has been conducted by Jiří Kopecký, who teaches at the Department of Musicology at the Palacký University in Olomouc.
