Věra Ondrašíková selected for BE Festival residency
BE FESTIVAL is Birmingham's European Festival of performing arts. The festival takes place annually in Birmingham and lasts for a week featuring a daring and innovative programme of theatre, dance, circus, live music, DJs, visual arts, talks and workshops from across the continent. During the year, the festival invites two international artists to create a show with young people based in Birmingham who don't speak English as a first language, speak a second language at home, are homeless, at risk of homelessness, refugees or asylum seekers. In February, selected from an open call for applicants, Czech artist Věra Ondrašíková will be collaborating with British artist Michael Bell. At the end of the residency/rehearsals, there will be a sharing at the Midlands Arts Centre.
festival dates: June 21 -25
