Czech musicians at Leamington Music Festival Weekend

Later Romantic Music celebrating Czech and German composers. These Festival Weekends built round the first May Bank Holiday were started in 1990 and this year's theme concentrates on the music of Dvorak and his friend and mentor Brahms and their contemporaries. From the Czech Republic comes the Smetana Piano Trio, led by violinist Jana Novakova who has been in Leamington several times and whose pianist Jitka Cechova will play the Dvorak Quintet with the Apollon Quartet, which came to the Festival in 1997. It performed then with Lada Valesova who returns to accompany the mezzo Lucie Spickova.
