Czech Pianist Lukas Vondracek at Wigmore Hall

Acclaimed Czech pianist Lukas Vondracek made his first public appearance at the age of four and is currently studying at Boston’s New England Conservatory with Hung-Kuan Chen. His natural and assured musicality, plus a remarkable technical ability, mark him out as a gifted and mature musician who has long laid the cornerstone for a major career. At his London concert at the Wigmore Hall he will play Brahm´s Sonata in F minor No.3 Op.5 followed by Beethoven´s 32 Variations in C minor, Schumann's Kinderszenen Op.15 and Martinu´s Three Czech Dances.

Lukas Vondracek has worked with many of today’s top international conductors and orchestras.

In 2009 Lukas received the Raymond E. Buck Jury Discretionary Award at the International Van Cliburn Piano Competition, and in 2012 he was the First Prize winner at the 12th Unisa International Piano Competition in Pretoria, South Africa.

On Friday 6 September at 4.30 pm, Lukas Vondracek will be appearing on BBC Radio 3's Arts Programme In Tune for an interview and he will also perform three short pieces live in the studio.
