Janacek's awe-inspiring fanfares open the BPO¨s 80th Anniversary Season in a special collaboration with one of the country's leading brass ensembles.
The Sinfonietta, depicting landmarks in the town of Brno, sets the scene perfectly for a series of orchestral dances in which Smetana and Dvorak conjure up the Czech spirit using the rhythms of their homeland.
The BPO is also joined by the Prizewinner of the 2002 Tchaikovsky Competition for one of the undisputed masterpieces of the cello's repertoire.
