In Prague, Jirka, a small boy, is worried about his sick dog while in a fairy tale a three-headed dragon claims princess Karolína for a snack when there’s no prince to defend her. The witch Kittymother promises to help Jirka if he assists her in fairytale land because as she says: “Miracles do happen, but you have to take the first step.” Vítek, a poor puppeteer in love with Karolína, is in the same situation; he can have help on one condition. Written by Irena Dousková the story successfully connects with the Czech tradition of Christmas Eve fairy tales.
