Fresh Czech – Mydy Rabycad / Ghost of You
On 27 September, two bands from the Czech Republic are coming all the way to London to give us a taste of the Czech music scene. There will be two performances, one by Ghost of You and the other by Mydy Rabycad. Both bands have performed to great success in many countries, for example, Mydy Rabycad performed at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. This is a part of ‘Fresh Czech’, an Indies Production project introducing emerging Czech bands abroad.
GHOST OF YOU
Ghost of You are a young band who are not afraid to wrap their choruses in the coloured light of electronic psychedelic music and blurry guitars. Their music is an intersection of fragile emotions and the energy of the moment. Their work reflects the influence of post- and math rock, gradually making a metamorphosis into psychedelic pop. Thanks to their average age of 21, they became the youngest Czech project to perform at the Sziget festival 2015.
Mydy Rabycad is a six-piece Czech band that blend classic swing from the first half of the 20th century with modern synth pop beats. Front and centre is Žofie Dařbujánová, a true diva with bright red hair and a ferocious voice. Together with her six band members she'll turn this electro-swing show into a high-energy party. The young band Mydy Rabycad from Prague demonstrates on their second album Glamtronic music gleaming with energy. The core quartet have been playing together since they were seventeen – at that time they were a new band with jazz background that surfed onto the electro-swing wave. Sure to make you dance, their mission is to keep the upbeat rhythms alive.
Admission: £8.50 advance, £11.50 on the door (cash only)
