I served the King of England

Delfina’s curatorial resident Michal Novotný (Czech Republic) hosts an event with live artist interventions. Drawing on ideas of character and role-play within artistic practice, the event acts as part exhibition, part absurdist drama, part television broadcast and employs different ways of presence and presentation of artist and artworks. With: Julie Bena, Anna Daučíková, Chiara Fumai, Tim Philips, Ondřej Vicena, Mark Ther and others.

Michal Novotný (Czech Republic) is a curator and the director at FUTURA center for contemporary art in Prague. His curatorial research is directed towards the notion of the group exhibition as a relation between the individual artwork and the whole agglomerate, and how this relation can be built to secure the autonomy of both. He is further interested in different conceptions of time linked to shifts in art. For example, renaissances and retro-waves, the concept of constant extensivity, different temporalities, and triadic models, among others.

RSVP essential: guestlist@delfinafoundation.com

The event is part of Michal Novotný's residency at Delfina Foundation.

The residency is supported by the Arts and Theatre Institute - Artists in Residence Programme www.idu.cz/en/
