Daddy and Lili Marlene

Fri 13 June 7 pm

A loose sequel to the “King of Velichovky” the story is narrated from the perspective of little Eva who recollects her happy memories of a Velichovky farmstead on the Czech-German border and her parents – caring Daddy and beautiful but selfish Lili. We Meet in Denver

Fri 13 June 8.15 pm

Frantisek is obsessed with the westerns, which his father shows frequently in their cinema. Together with his cousin Ferda they star in and shoot their own westerns. The nationalisation of the Czechoslovak film industry robs them of the cinema as well as a large collection of archive prints. Frantisek is not allowed to study and is later on sent to prison. In 1968 he decides to emigrate…

Followed by Q&A with director Jan Sikl.
