Two big names of Slovak and Czech music Richard Müller and Dan Bárta are coming to London to perform at 229 Venue. Get ready for Richard’s biggest hits as well as new tracks from his last album 55.
Dan Bárta was born in 1969 in the Czech Republic and is among the most respected Czech singers. He became a significant figure in the Czech music scene as his originality and vocal tone cross genres and formed the basis of his debut album. Illustratosohera, his first solo record, was the start of a music project of the same name, for which he collaborated with leading Czech musicians. Bárta has won several awards from the Academy of Popular Music. He is also performing with Robert Balzar Trio and performed with Bobby McFerrin in Prague in 2008.
Richard Muller was born in 1961 in Slovakia. While studying screenwriting and dramaturgy in Bratislava, Muller published a music journal. In 1984 he established the band Banket, before starting his solo career in 1992. He writes lyrics to songs, occasionally also setting them to music, and is also working on solo projects. In the past he has collaborated with artists including Petr Hapka and Michal Horacek. In 2003 Muller recorded an album with local instrumentalists in New York, before going on tour in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Muller has composed scores for films, theatre and musicals.
