Libor Novacek – piano

Novacek’s lunchtime concert as a part of Brighton Festival.

27 year-old Czech pianist Libor Novacek studied at the Teplice Conservatoire and later at the Guildhall of Music and Drama. He has won a number of major prizes and awards, including last year's Landor Records Competition, leading to the release of his debut CD for the label.

Today he performs a typically spirited programme that includes three Czech dances by fellow countryman Bohuslav Martinu and Liszt's virtuosic Mephisto Waltz - a recital repertoire that perfectly captures his loose-limbed athleticism and breathtaking technique.

Tickets: £7
