Literary Residency in Aberystwyth

The Czech Centre London and the Arts Institute in Prague are glad to announce that Czech writer Patrik Linhart was awarded the literary residency in Aberystwyth, Wales.

Patrik Linhart is a Czech writer, artist, translator and performer living in the North Bohemia. He has published 11 books and his work has been published in Czech as well as in foreign magazines (Czech magazines Host, Tvar, Analogon, Salon Práva, Weles, H_aluze, Protimluv, Babylón, Reflex, Psí víno, Pandora, Intelektuál, Pako, Polish magazines Bohema and Portret, English Internet Magazine Cafe Irreal etc.). Since 2009 he contributes to fortnightly Czech magazine Tvar where he has his own column “Haló, tady čistička“. He also published translations of English-writig authors such as Arthur Machen, E. A. Poe, William Chamberse, W. H. Hodgson in magazines.

He also organises literary evenings and performances in the city of Teplice. As a a co-author and an actor he participated on films and documentaries. His work was featured in a documentary called “Patrik Linhart – Běsové budou pokřikovat“  (“The Demons will be Shouting“) which is part of Czech TV series Čtenářský deník (“Reader’s Diary“). In 2012 he was one of the characters in Czech TV’s documentary Těžký život básníků (“Difficult life of Poets“) from Czech TV series called Pološero (“Twilight“).
