Miroslav Vitouš & Emil Viklický + support

One of the defining figures in European jazz, Miroslav Vitouš left his native Czechoslovakia to make a profound impact on the New York scene in the 60s, making jazz history as a founder member of the hugely influential Weather Report and in a seminal acoustic trio with Chick Corea and Roy Haynes.

He makes a long-awaited return to London with the award-winning pianist and composer Emil Viklický where his sumptuous bass lines merge with Viklický’s robust combination of swing and lyrics – combine elements of Bud Powell and Oscar Peterson with a deep infusion of Moravian soul, and you have Emil Viklický, the patriarch of Czech jazz piano’ (Jack Massarik, Evening Standard)
