New G(o)ods at the Clerkenwell Design Week (design)
A tour de force of young design, showcasing the work of the up-and-coming generation of Czech designers - the winners of the 2011 Czech National Awards for Student Design plus a selection of the best entries of the previous years. An interactive lighting robot, a set of sex toys (a controversial overall winner of the 2011 Award), lamps, jewellery and variety of prototypes, models, and posters will be on view in the basement of the House of Detention. Through playful concepts and unique aesthetics, students of industrial design, architecture, graphic art and fashion design address social, technical and environmental issues and propose solutions related to the problems of aging populations. There will be more exhibits to admire when the show continues at the nearby Techo showroom later in May and June.
