Olga Pek – Zuzana Husárová: Amoeba Twins

When an amoeba divides in two, does it go out of existence? This performance ingests an array of concepts such as individuality, binarity, generativity and affective force and modulates them in a cocktail of biological, philosophical, feminist and futuristic fragments that span from the antiquity to present and beyond. As a protean amoeba it oscillates between the forms of technopoesis, sound manipulation and lyrical (t)hereness. With music and video by Ľubomír Panák.

Olga Pek is a poet, translator, organizer and a postgrad student at the Charles University in Prague. She is the director of Prague Microfestival and co-editor of the Czech quarterly for contemporary poetry Psí Víno and the international revue VLAK. Her poetry translations from English have been published in the anthology Polibek s rozvodnou (“Kissing the Substation,” 2012). She is a member of the TŘYIE poetry collective.

Part of North Wales International Poetry Festival
