Afternoon with Rum: Pavel Reisenauer

Pavel Reisenauer's first solo UK exhibition depicts his uniquely dark vision of the world. The work contains hidden passages of seemingly important histories, and points into dark corners, where lurks the spirit of the mundane.

Open: Fridays and Saturdays 12.00 pm - 6 pm
Midweek viewings by appointment: 07760 370791 or 07879 315715

Pavel Reisenauer is a Czech illustrator, well known for his exquisite illustrations in Prague’s Respekt  – a Czech political weekly magazine, which covers domestic and foreign issues, focusing on political and economic news. Respekt was launched shortly after the 1989 velvet revolution, and was founded by Samizdat dissidents. Reisenauer has illustrated Respekt since its inception, and his illustrations have become the reason why many people follow the magazine.
Reisenauer’s work is produced using a very highly detailed technique, combining digital technologies with traditional draftsmanship. The works are printed using latex inks on vinyl. In the exhibition's newspaper style catalogue you will find a unique interview with the artist – The Anti-Crowd-Pleaser.

Also on the DIVUS London premises, you will find recent books published by Divus, and the Umelec Magazine Archive.
