Philharmonia Orchestra Concert

Philharmonia Orchestra and St. John's invite you to a celebration of the anniversaries of Dvořák & Janáček. The concert features a renowned Cannes Award Winner, Bohuslav Matoušek (violin), performing with leading artists of today: the award winning pianist & professor at the Guildhall School of Music, Lada Valešová, and the youngest Philharmonia Principal, David Cohen (cello).

This concert brings together three of the most talented artists of today performing an imaginative programme of well and less-known works by Janáček, Dvořák and Martinů.

A real jewel is Martinu's superb Sonata no. 3 with its syncopated tunes and airborn dance rhythms. Despite its unquestionable musical value it is rarely played owing, perhaps, to the extreme technical difficulties, so this is a unique opportunity to hear it!
