Prague Past and Present: A talk by Ivan Plicka

A member of the team charged with preparing city development plans from the 1950s to the 1990s, Ivan Plicka has spent virtually all his working life in Prague’s City Development Authority. His involvement continued long after official retirement age, when his familiarity with the wider world and his command of several languages led to his appointment as the Authority’s “minister for foreign affairs”. In his illustrated talk he will review how the city’s distinct quarters have evolved, particularly since the fall of Communism. Admission free but registration necessary by e-mail to bcsa@bcsa.co.uk or by phone 020 8795 4875.

Refreshments will be served following the screening and discussion.
The event follows the BCSA’s Annual General Meeting at 6.30pm (for members only).

Organised by the BCSA in collaoration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the UK.
