Richard Wiesner at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival

Known for his interventions in public spaces, international sculptor Richard Wiesner presents his latest project, 28, an installation showing the anthems of the 28 EU countries which poses questions about globalisation and migration. The installation is part of this year's Norfolk & Norwich Festival and will run from Saturday 11 May until Sunday 26 May.

28, an IN SITU Pilot project, has received a creation aid by the ACT project, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. 

RICHARD WIESNER works in the field of institutional critique, political art and interventions in public space. For his artistic projects, he has chosen various forms and means of expression, such as objects, installations, video and performance. His works are presented in a Czech and international context (L”homme moustachu porte-bonheur, Gallerie La Vitrine, Canada, Czech Centre, 281m, London, UK, Private Nationalism Kunsthalle Košice, SK). He lives and works in Prague.

The Norfolk & Norwich Festival, "the flagship arts festival for the East of England", has been taking place every May since 2012. Its aim being to get people together and share unique experiences in the city streets and public spaces, it showcases many international artists from all around the world. Its multicultural programme spans music, theatre, literature, visual arts, circus, dance and free outdoor events.
