Sharpen those keyboards …

Plug in those pencils! Both fact and fiction will be welcome in this year’s writing competition run by the British Czech and Slovak Association.

 

The prize will be awarded to the best 1,500 to 2,000-word piece of original writing in English relating to the links between Britain and the Czech/Slovak Republics, or describing society in transition in the Republics since 1989.

The writer of this year's winning entry will receive £300, which will be presented at the BCSA annual dinner in London in November 2006. The piece will be published in the December 2006 issue of the British Czech and Slovak Review. The runner-up will win £100.

Submissions are invited from individuals of any age, nationality or educational background.  Entrants do not need to be members of the BCSA.

Entries should be received by 30 June 2006. The competition will be judged by a panel of experts. The writer of the prize-winning entry will be notified by 30 September 2006.
