Silesian Ostrava Choral Ensemble

Silesian Ostrava Choral Ensemble will perform in London between 2nd July and 6th July 2011. Come and hear it all - secular and sacred songs of all musical styles, pieces of old masters as well as experimental arrangements by contemporary artists, spirituals, gospels and various modifications of folk songs and of artificial songs.

Silesian Ostrava Choral Ensemble is a mixed choir which operates in Ostrava since 1989. In the past the choir achieved much success which guarantee pleasant atmosphere and general quality of concerts. The main recognised values of the choir include culture of voice expression, sensitive dramaturgy, effort towards demonstrativeness and interpretive fidelity as well as performing new ways of interpretation of contemporary compositions.
During the course of the choir's existence it gave concerts in many countries all over the world.
The base staff of the choir consists of enthusiasts for choir singing from the ranks of students, teachers and people of many other professions, especially from the Ostrava region. The artistic director and choirmaster is college lecturer Jan Spisar, Ph.D.
