Czech born author and journalist Stepan Hobza will be among over 100 of Europe’s most innovative and dynamic literary and avant-garde poets taking part in the third iteration of the European Poetry Festival this April.

32 poets in 16 pairs from 26 countries present brand new collaborations of literary performance, made especially for the night. This will be a night of playful, experimental literary and avant-garde poetry, a celebration of contemporary European poetry and the possibilities of live literature in collaboration.

The 2020 European Poetry Festival comes to the Dragon Hall! An event celebrating literary poetry, avant-garde performance and the potentials of collaboration, pairing some of the finest poets of the thriving Norwich poetry scene with writers visiting from nations across Europe. New works made for the night spanning languages, literatures and the European continent.

Stepan Hobza
(born Prague, Czechia, 1993) is an author and journalist. He graduated in History and Italian from the Charles University in Prague and currently studies MA World History and Cultures at King’s College London. He has contributed with essays, articles and poems to various literary magazines and media outlets (The Globe Post, History Is Now, Host, Tvar, Lidové Noviny, Listy, Literární.cz, and others). His book debut Ferrari v džungli (Prague: Literární Salon, 2018) was shortlisted for the prestigious Magnesia Litera Awards. In 2013-14 Stepan was an editor of the literary magazine Psí víno. In 2014-2015 he participated in the Children of the Transition project holding literary events and workshops in Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary. He works as the UK correspondent for Lidové Noviny and as a history teacher at the Czech School Without Borders. He lives in London.
