Tereza Severova: No Memory & Sing!

Recent works by Czech videoartist Tereza Severova will be shown as a part of Singlescreen – a new strand of the VIVID programme which focuses on presenting seminal moving image work for screen, alongside new work by emerging artists.

5 - 8 March, 12pm-5.30pm

Severova is based in Prague and in 2005 was awarded the Start Point prize for the most outstanding graduate of a Czech art school. Co-founder of gallery ENTRANCE which is part of the dynamic new complex of artist studios and galleries in Karlin, Prague, this is the second UK presentation of her work.

Her recent works No Memory and Sing! (2005) consider the way in which memory and technology sharpen the conflict between the real and the artificial in a life size choral video installation. Severova manipulates a combination of photography and video to develop images which are simultaneously static and dynamic – her characters at once alive and yet captured, stilled.
