Tereza Stehlikova: The Story of Violet

A beautifully written and illustrated tale that recognises the dreams and longing of children – and adults – of all ages, The Story of Violet speaks with a timeless insight into the mystery and wonder of the world. It marks the debut of a striking and singular talent.

A book for children, written and illustrated by Tereza Stehlíková

Often Violet asks herself, “how can it be so beautiful here? Why are all the colours more intense than in the world at home? Why can’t it be the other way round? Why does it feel more real here than in the real world?”

Tereza Stehlíková was born in Prague and currently lives in London. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, she lectures in animation at the University of Westminster and works as an artist, writer and film-maker.
