The (Hi)story of the Brave Czech Nation (exhibition and competition)
The award winning and bestselling comic book by Czech artist Lucie Seifertova, telling the story of Czech history and its legends, recreated as wallpaper murals, will be on display at selected schools and community centres.
Various periods of Czech history, highlighting everyday
life, culture, myths and legends are accompanied by cartoon-style texts and
characters. They provide a unique insight into Czech politics, art,
architecture and science, while at the same time relating British history to that
of Europe. Children will be invited to submit
their own pictorial take on historical events and dozens of books of these and
similar stories by Seifertova will be donated to schools and libraries across
