The Jacobin

Antonin Dvorak's neglected masterpiece is a captivating blend of high comedy and drama. Ingredients include a couple in disguise, thwarted desire and a spoonful of suspicion and intrigue, all served up in music of pure gold. Performed by BBC Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Jiri Belohlavek, this 'peasant' opera is an excellent musical treat. In Czech with English subtitles.
