TNF: Phantomysteria

Phantomisteria are allegories of an apocalyptic catastrophe coming as a consequence of discovering a way to fulfill everyone's wishes. The world has been destroyed and everything has changed.

New laws and rules are in force. Those who survive have lost their memory, and paradoxically, live on a destroyed planet as at the beginning of time in paradise. But because humans are only human, history is repeating itself...

Fireworks of light, flaming fire and wreaths of nipping smoke;, human shapes convulsing on stage presented by actors testing the physical limitations of the body, psychedelically narcotic and insufferably ea- jangling music - all combine to produce a unique experience, whose intensity is comparable to adrenalin sports."
Ondřej Mrázek, Instinkt magazine

Since the first night in 2004 Phantomysteria has been presented at significant Czech and European festivals including: La Strada, Graz; Robodock, Amsterdam, Festival Ana Desetnica, Ljublana; Puf festival, Pula; FETA, Gdaňsk, Sztuka Ulicy, Warsawa and others. Phantomysteria was awarded the first prize at the International Festival of Alternative and New Theatre INFANT 2005, Novi Sad and the International festival SASIEDZI 2007, Lublin.

Teatr Novogo Fronta
The origin of Teatr Novogo Fronta lies in St. Petersburg, Russia, where this theatre company was established in 1993. Their early work resulted from experiments in the relationship between the actor's body and the event space. The company has included other members and guests from the Czech Republic, Japan, Russia, Canada, Italy, Slovakia, Germany, France, Sardinia, Togo, Greece and Poland. Teatr Novogo Fronta's creativity and stage presentation is impressive both in its scale and variety, ranging from street theatre and improvised sets to exacting and directed plays on classical theatre stages. Theatre critics describe their work as "bitter dance grotesque," "divided dance," or compared their movement act to butoh.
Performances by the Teatr Novogo Fronta are constructed from images, which stand on the frontier between mysticism and abstraction, circus art and modern dance, where the main force is the action, with improvisation and tension amplified by the ridiculousness of human tragedy. Teatr Novogo Fronta return to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival after four years: in 2004 they were awarded a Fringe First for the production Dias de Las Noches.
