Tomáš Přidal at The European Poetry Festival

Czech poet and illustrator Tomáš Přidal is coming to The European Poetry Festival 2018. The festival brings together some of the finest literary and avant-garde poets of this generation, to London and across the UK, to collaborate, perform and share the brilliance of contemporary European literature.

Tomáš Přidal will take part in the following two events:

European poetry is going through a remarkable renaissance in avant-garde and innovative practise. At the forefront of this movement are a series of poets exploring the possibilities of performance, liveness, space, time and sound. This event is a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the possibilities of an old art in a new century. Curated by Simon Pomery and SJ Fowler. 


About Tomáš Přidal
Poet and illustrator Tomáš Přidal has published seven printed books of poetry and prose including Everything has the Colour of Soap (1996), A Hiccough from the Viewpoint of Literary Theory (1998), Man in my Bath (2000), Deposited Conversations (2003), The Coconut Ape (2004), Voices in a Biscuit (2007), Piquant Cops (2011) and two online books, Pontiak (2011) and Chair fears not the dead (2014). Selections from his works were published in magazine Quorum (Tomáš Přidal: Čovjek u mojoj kadi, Quorum, Zagreb, 2010) and in antology Irreal Reader / Fiction & Essays from The Cafe Irreal (Tucson, Arizona, 2013). His poems and drawings were published in electronic magazines Word For/Word: A Journal of New Writing, 3:AM Magazine, Cafe Irreal, E·ratio Poetry Journal, Pider, in literary journals Abwärts, Stadtgelichter, Der  Maulkorb or in the comics magazine Stripburger.  He illustrated the books of other authors, for example Chimney-sweep ships (Ivan Wernisch), The Extraordinary Adventures of Prince Chicory (Patrik Ouředník), Pop's Drunk Again (Dušan Čater), Everyday Spooks (Karel Michal). He plays the guitar in the duo Deceased Squirrel On The Phone, which published album Strawberry Cough in 2018.
