Three's a Crowd

Four clowns. One clapperboard. One hundred legendary film moments. 60 minutes. Oh, and no words. Acclaimed Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) physical theatre company be•wilder returns for a third year running to The Bloomsbury Festival with their Commedia dell’Arte smash-hit and love letter to cinema THREE’S A CROWD, showing on Saturday 19th October at The Bloomsbury Studio.

THREE’S A CROWD is an ensemble piece of non-verbal physical theatre, combining elements of mime, comedy, dance, presented by a travelling troupe of clowns. These four - yes, that’s four not three - hapless players have rolled in from across the seas to entertain with their attempts to perform one hundred recognisable cinematic moments in one hour. All these lowly clowns dream to do is share the magic and their love of the silver screen to audiences far and wide. Enamoured by the lasting images of ‘Le Voyage Dans La Lune’, ‘The Great Dictator’ ‘King Kong’, ‘Jurassic Park’, ‘The Godfather’ and ‘Titanic’ to name but a few, they will dazzle, charm, and most likely fail, in their attempts to accomplish this impossible task. But this time might be different. Who knows? They certainly don’t. What they may lack in sophistication, they more than make up for in spirit, invention, and most importantly heart.
