Vladimir Houdek - The Trickling Expanse

Bermondsey Shorts programme curated by Michaela Freeman presents a film by Vladimir Houdek and Hana Polanska Tureckova, The Trickling Expanse. “The Trickling Expanse (2014) is the first film realised by Vladimír Houdek. In cooperation with Hana Turečková, a film collage consisting of painting and dance has arisen that seeks a correspondence between pictorial and body language. Painter Houdek and dancer Turečková had already worked together successfully in 2013, in a stage performance by Bohuslav Martinů. From this initial stage experience by Houdek, the idea arose of continuing the experimental work with Turečková and the medium of dance, as both artists feel equally committed to the modernist movement. The conceptual point of departure is a scenic poem, a kind of libretto by Houdek, which in no way – whether as spoken text or as subtitles – enters the picture cinematically and for this reason is included only at the end of this text." Vladimir Houdek - born 1984 in Nové Mesto na Morave / Czech republic, now works and lives in Prague.
