Video recording of an event streamed live on the Czech Centre London Facebook page on 25 January 2021 to coincide with Holocaust Memorial Day 2021.

  It reveals the remarkable story of the Czech-Jewish Wels family. Hidden in a box for decades the evidence of the immense creative energy of several generations of the family has been brought to light thanks to family members and journalist David Vaughan.

With writer, broadcaster, journalist and university lecturer DAVID VAUGHAN, translator GERRY TURNER, creative director of the Insiders Outsiders Festival MONICA BOHM-DUCHEN, editor of Sancta Familia BETTINA KAIBACH and IVAN and COLIN WELS.

Organised by the Czech Centre in collaboration with Insiders/Outsiders: Refugees from Nazi Europe and their Contribution to British Culture and Czech Radio.
