Czech Innovation Expo in Birmingham

16 Oct 2019 28 Feb 2020

The interactive exhibition using cutting-edge technology and bringing back history as much as it reveals the new tech trends.

Embark on a journey to explore innovations and scientific discoveries that have had an impact on the lives of millions of people around the world. Prominent Czech scientists such as the inventors of the contact lens and HIV drug treatments are presented in the exhibition together with representatives of the latest innovations in digital technology and medicine.

The uniqueness of the Czech Innovation Expo (CIE) exhibition is based on the interconnection of interactive audiovisual art, design and digital augmented reality technology. Visitors enter a seemingly empty space with abstract symbols on the walls, download the CIE AR iOS or Android application to their smart devices, and then just explore and discover a variety of stories and information about a scientific discovery or innovation. When the device is pointed at a particular symbol on a wall, the story will unfold on the screen. The CIE has already been presented around the world - at Miraikan, The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo, and at other leading institutions for science and innovation in Shanghai, Beijing, Berlin, Munich, Rome, Prague and Athens. Now it is coming to Birmingham!
